Walkthrough: offline corpus audit

Measure local catalog consistency and retained media without claiming upstream freshness or a completed product journey.

Check the active corpus#

Confirm the adopted corpus before interpreting any counts. These commands inspect local bytes without crawling products or rewriting records. Set CATALOG to an actual catalog in that corpus.

Validate catalog consistency#

bash
spis generate-example-catalogs --check

Read the actual per-catalog result. Consistent indexes can correctly describe partial records; consistency does not imply complete product evidence.

Measure evidence gaps#

bash
spis verify-reference-evidence --catalog "$CATALOG"

Inspect measured completeness and every named gap. The default command does not rewrite the record, and its successful exit is not an accessibility, journey or model-quality verdict.

Verify retained bytes#

bash
spis check-upstream-drift --skip-network --strict

Strict mode refuses missing media or a digest mismatch. Investigate the named file and its provenance instead of changing a hash to silence the refusal. Skipping the network says nothing about current upstream URLs or README revisions.

Retain the actual result#

Bind the report to the exact source revision, commands, exit statuses and observed corpus. Keep operational output in ignored private evidence storage. Do not copy a past run's counts, dates or success statements into this guide as a current verdict.
