Walkthrough: a reference record lifecycle
Create, inspect, measure and remove a reference record using attributable capture data in a dedicated corpus.
Select real inputs and an isolated corpus#
Use a dedicated corpus and confirm its active location with spis corpus status before mutation. An adopted corpus overrides the shell directory. Choose an unused catalog name for CATALOG, the real PRODUCT_NAME and PRODUCT_URL, and an attributable retained screenshot for CAPTURE_PATH. Do not manufacture a placeholder image or claim that these illustrative commands were executed.
Create the catalog and record#
spis catalog-type add "$CATALOG" --title "Capture review" --description "Isolated reference qualification"
spis reference-record add "$CATALOG" --name "$PRODUCT_NAME" --source-url "$PRODUCT_URL" --category "product interface" --selection-note "Attributable retained capture" --visual "$CAPTURE_PATH"The commands create the source entry, numbered reference, retained visual and generated indexes. A visual alone does not establish interactions, journeys, motion or accessibility. Missing observations remain explicit gaps, and a partial record is not a failed consistency check.
Inspect persisted state#
Set RECORD_INDEX to the number assigned to this record, not an assumed existing index. Compare the joined result and retained image with the actual input: source identity, dimensions, byte count and SHA-256 must agree.
spis reference-record get "$CATALOG" "$RECORD_INDEX"
spis verify-reference-evidence --catalog "$CATALOG"
spis generate-example-catalogs --checkDefault verification measures without rewriting records. Exit 0 means the command completed, not that every evidence floor passed. A capture qualification also needs the real product journey and its retained evidence.
Handle a regeneration refusal#
A failed command can leave primary record changes that precede index generation. Inspect the actual record and catalog before repeating a mutation. The maintained Rust generator reports the violated invariant; correct its source rather than editing generated totals or replaying add/remove blindly.
spis generate-example-catalogs
spis generate-example-catalogs --checkRemove only the qualification record#
spis reference-record remove "$CATALOG" "$RECORD_INDEX"
spis generate-example-catalogs --checkConfirm that the selected entry and record are absent while other records remain intact. Retain actual command statuses and observations privately. A historical transcript, a zero exit status alone or a generated example response is not proof of this lifecycle.
